This assignment really made me think about the fact that we base quite a bit of our assumptions on what we look like as a person on the outside. I myself definitely would not have taken a seat and looked at multiple pictures of myself and asked: “does this really define who I am?” if it weren’t for this. I can definitely say that I’m glad I did. The reason being is that we as ourselves can think we know who we are as a person. In reality, there are things even we don’t know about ourselves as a person unless we take a look at a photo. Sure, we can look in a mirror to see our person, but who we are, how we feel, how we hold ourselves is better described through an image. I don’t mean school pictures where we need to be there and we just want to leave. I mean a genuine photo like at a party, get-together, traveling, nature, somewhere unforced and in the spur of the moment. After all, “A picture is worth a thousand words” as they say.
