- List your dream job or jobs. In a perfect world, one day you will be __________. Briefly describe what you’ll do in this role. What knowledge, skills, or abilities do you think you will need for this job?
The job that I aspire to be right now is a Dental Hygienist since that is my goal in life as of right now and I do have a general interest in the Dental field. In a perfect world, my dream jobs range widely and are very different from one another. In the past, I have wanted to be an Interior Designer, a Business Owner, and a Writer/Author. The knowledge and skills I would need for these jobs would be a general sense of creativity, basic art skills, and friendliness.

- Were you surprised by the results of the quiz compared to what you listed as your dream role?
My ideal role ended up being a Practitioner. I was surprised by the results of the quiz because I always strayed away from Nursing in general, but I understand why I got my results because I do enjoy helping other people.

Part 2: Apply to your Dream Job –
- Think about the job postings you submitted for Part 1, and the knowledge, skills, and abilities you’ll need. Did these jobs match what you had in mind for your dream job? Did you find your dream job? Describe the similarities and differences.
I do not think these jobs match what I had in mind for my dream job because I think being a Nurse Practitioner is a little more difficult than being a Dental Hygienist and I know typically the schedule of Hygienists can be more flexible than Nurses. The similarities between the two jobs would be the fact that they are both in the healthcare field, they work hands-on with patients, and they can provide both physical/emotional care for patients. The differences would be the work in general because Nurses have a wider range of care they must provide while with Hygienists, it is mostly oral and dental care. I am personally more interested in oral care so that is why I prefer the Dental field.
- From the 3 job postings you found, choose one job you want the most, and use the list of skills required for the job of interest. Identify skills you already have and identify skills you are still building or need more experience performing. Discuss options to sharpen or learn the skills you will need to gain.
One job I want the most out of the three listings I found would be the very first job post I found, which is a general Nurse Practitioner. I chose this job because I think realistically speaking, it would be a great starter in the nursing field compared to the other two. The skills required for this job would be diagnosis of illnesses, providing proper treatment for patients, and ability to create/store informational data.
The skills I would need more experience in performing would be diagnosing illnesses obviously because I have no experience or degree in Nursing, but I would work towards achieving that goal. Physically providing proper treatment I would have to work on as well, but I think I might have some skills on providing emotional support for patients. I also have some experience in creating spreadsheets, but I would have to learn a bit more on other informational data options.
