Cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance through people who cyberbully and harass each other and others via the internet. According to Cybersecurity: A Major Concern And A Great Business Opportunity (forbes.com) explains that much “Connectivity through the Internet has yielded businesses everywhere tremendous productivity and profitability opportunities”. Which I find to be true because this is how businesses make their increase in productivity and this allows more and more interruptions and issues to occur most likely that may come with threats and scams. Mostly for the technology world cyber-attacks are most likely to occur because of harassment and cyberbullying to take advantage of a company’s money or to get it from an employee through scam mail. This tends to happen to businesses that make profitable money, and more and more crimes happen to these companies due to how big a company is worldwide as well. Also another way cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance is if there has been excessive personal use of the internet during work hours which can bring problems to a company when having an employee who isn’t doing what they are supposed to do and this can easily create a problem because whatever site this person could be on could be a scam and by putting personal information on a work computer system can be easily hacked. This can really lead to businesses being shut down. Unauthorized access to confidential information has been a big thing around the world due to hackers acting as different people to get private information through email or links that employees from a business may click on and give private information and could possibly get money etc. There are many ways cyber technology creates opportunities for workplace deviance and more companies need to be aware of everything that their employees do.
