The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is outstanding, I say this because traditional criminal justice systems now have something in common with cybercrimes such as hacking, online fraud, identity theft, and cyberbullying. With the help of the criminal justice systems, it makes the job a bit challenging for the law enforcement and other experts because they must adapt to the existing frameworks to compete with the cyber threats while having to go through different processes. This overlap relates to other disciplines discussed in our class because it provides personnel trained experts in digital forensics, cybercrime investigation processes and computer science to identify and track cybercriminals. Moreover, this overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime extends beyond law enforcement and legal proceedings to intersect with other disciplines like technology, psychology, economics, and public policy. Technology is what helps shape cybercrime, requiring interdisciplinary collaboration to stay ahead of the emerging threats. Psychologists contribute insights into the behavior of cybercriminals by scoping out the strategies these criminals used to try and break into any system. Economists analyze the financial impact of cybercrimes on individuals, businesses, and governments that inform cost-benefit analyses of cybersecurity and regular frameworks. In today’s society, the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime underscores the approaches for both prevention and response to issues. Policymakers must balance privacy, civil liberties, and national security while legislation and regulations to mock cyber threats. While research and collaboration are essential to developing strategies that safeguard individuals and institutions in an interconnected world on both ends. With the convergence of criminal justice and cybercrime it will continue to develop a brighter future of law enforcement, governance, and societal norms. More businesses across the world while using these strategic processes in criminal justice and cybercrime issues will increase in the future and provide a stronger security.
