SPAN 102

Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication

An Effective Reflection Is

My skills in Spanish are increased I say the main thing that I struggled with and still do now depending on how the sentence in Spanish is. I struggle with he the noun in sentences. In Spanish you have to change up a word depending topic, person, etc. In English we have you, you’re, were, and etc. in Spanish learning on how to cup these same nouns in Spanish’ and putting them into a sentence is a challenge. Overall I say I know a lot more Spanish words and I’m slight more confident speaking Spanish.

Artifacts

In Lingrolearning I started off really bad with the possessive adjectives. I always use the wrong adjectives and word positions in the wrong sentences are and I had to practice what possessive adjective goes with subject of the sentence. For example (in Nos gusta la pizza) The subject is pizza but the adjective is in 1 person.

Exploring Culture

What helped me was lingro lesrning modules I think they were really helpful for me to learn and gain the knowledge I know about spanish. Google translate helped for me to go over words and it was very helpful when I was building my pronunciation of the words right.

When I was using Google Translate, lingro learning, and s Spanish vocab books. It helped me really well, and it actually made me realize that Spanish and English are actually very similar and different ways is two different cultures behind them. It also made me realize there are more adjectives like you’re, you, and were. The Spanish language contains a lot of accents that we don’t have. They helped me pronounce words, and accents, and dheloed gain Spanish vocabulary.

Engaging in Communities

It’s important to be attentive and attentive to what’s going on around you in the world because it’s great to be aware and have awareness of what going on whether it’s bad, good, important, etc. It’s good to also know what’s going on so you can see how you can help others that are less fortunate.

I personally do not have a lot of footage or anything of me giving back to the community but if anything I want to do some time of give back to countries overseas like Africa, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico.

Interpersonal Communication

for the oral communication part of this class with the talk abroad and conversation with my instructor. We’re both. Pretty cool, but we’re both very different in our own way. I think that the oral assignments were very good to build- I think that the oral assignments were very good to build Spanish and showing the teacher that your Spanish is improving. When I did the conversation with 3 I felt a little confident I knew what I was doing. I felt that my introduction was pretty good, but they were a few words where I was a little stuck and I took a long to respond, but I still felt that I feel good and I practice after. for the Talka broad Conversations they were pretty casual and chill as well. I felt very more on the test side because I w my interaction, I was a little nervous because I was talking to people that were more confident and had more knowledge and a background in Spanish so I kind of felt a little nervous. Overall, I felt that my introduction is very strong and my strong suit is if I don’t understand a sentence in Spanish would usually help me understand it is I’ll p pick out some of the words in a sentence to see what it means, and I’ll feel out the sentence to understand it.

At my job, you have a lot of construction workers typically Mexican or I’d say Hispanic sometimes or some of them don’t have a pretty good English so sometimes I take it as an opportunity especially when they come up and ask me a question in Spanish to use my talk abroad skills, my lingro learning skills, and just my overall Spanish speaking skills to build an increase my level in Spanish, speaking fluently Spanish. at first when I started doing it, I was a little nervous to do it just because my Spanish wasn’t good and I didn’t want someone that was fluent in a language that I was going to look at me. Stupid for trying to talk to him and I’m pronouncing things wrong. I’m saying things out of context in Spanish but it’s a great practicece.

I still have weaknesses in the adjective or the possessive adjective section of Spanish. I would say Spanish additives are really hard for me but I have been getting a little better. I just have a hard time using the right ones for the rice and this is a test to use the wrong adjectives. For the wrong subject or person for the wrong subject. The lingo learning modules were a great help for me to at least try and learn how to use adjectives and nouns in a sentence.
