The article review should focus on (1) how the topic relates to the principals of the social sciences; (2) the study’s research questions or hypotheses; (3) the types of research methods used; (4) the types of data and analysis done; (5) how concepts from the PowerPoint presentations relate to the article; (6) how the topic relates to the challenges, concerns and contributions of marginalized groups; and (7) the overall contributions of the studies to society.

Social Construction of Internet Fraud as Innovation among Youths in Nigeria

The article relates to the principles of relativism, ethical neutrality, and determinism. Relativism in the sense that technology and the economy are very connected and these youths are using technology for financial gain. Ethical neutrality as those who were interviewed were not turned over to the authorities. Determinism by the fact that these youths were driven to commit internet fraud by circumstances like unemployment. The study wanted to come to understand the opinions of young adults in Nigeria on using internet fraud as a means of economic survival. The research method of choice for this study was survey research with qualitative interviews. This article presented data in the form of quotations from the interviews under a number of sub-headings. Under each sub-heading was a short introduction, direct quotations with demographic information on the quoted individual, and a conclusion summarizing the findings. This article looks into the psychological factors that led these young adults to commit internet fraud. The topic of the article goes into the challenges faced by the marginalized group of Nigerian youths. It talks about how these Nigerian youths are having trouble earning money to survive which led them to commit internet fraud. This study went to primary sources to find the reasons behind the youths’ decisions to go into internet fraud so that they may be addressed. The study recommends bringing more opportunities for those in education to learn skills to make livings. They also recommend that the law enforcement agencies address internet fraud to stop the spread.
