Explain how the principles of science relate to cybersecurity

Relativism provides that all things are related. Cybersecurity is included in pretty much all work nowadays because most use technology.

Objectivity means studying topics in a value-free way. Cybersecurity has many ethical issues when it comes to dealing with cybercrime that shouldn’t be dictated by opinions.

Parsimony means keeping explanations simple. When talking to someone without cybersecurity knowledge, we can’t use jargon.

Empiricism means that only behavior which is real to the senses can be studied. We have to experience actual attacks to be able to understand them and prepare for the future.

Ethical neutrality provides that ethical standards must be adhered to during research. Ethical issues might arise when researching cybercrime.

Determinism means that previous life events can influence, determine, or cause future behavior. Hackers are often motivated by causes like politics or money.
