During my time at Old Dominion University I have undergone some self-learning through personal projects. I believe that self-learning is an important skill with how dynamic and varied the field of cybersecurity is. In both of the following projects I had a goal in mind and incrementally worked towards that goal. I did these on my own without the help of another person (or AI) through some brute-force and search engine queries. After finishing them I felt more confident in my knowledge and abilities in their areas. Another instance of self-learning I underwent was studying for my ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity certification one summer (linked here: https://sites.wp.odu.edu/ianhagmann/certifications/).
