This glamorized portrayal in the media offers the public a distorted perspective of cybersecurity, emphasizing visually appealing, rare events of hacking or crimes over every day, less apparent cybersecurity concerns. Such representations frequently depict hackers as criminal masterminds or highly talented individuals, simplifying the complicated ethical issues and diverse responsibilities in cybersecurity. This oversimplification influences how individuals handle cybersecurity in real life, with many underestimating the threats and the professional expertise necessary to manage them properly.
