Call for Papers

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 5, 2018

The Second International Conference on Mathematics of Data Science will take place in Norfolk, VA at Old Dominion University on November 3-4, 2018. The organizing committee would like to welcome you to contribute a paper or poster presentation to share your research on the mathematics of data science.

The goal of this conference is to bring together active researchers in various fields related to data science and practitioners in industry to identify mathematical and statistical challenges in data science, present state of the art of research in this area, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, nurture research partnerships between industry and academia, and, in particular, encourage young talent to pursue the field of data science.

We invite you to submit an abstract describing your work to one of the following seven tracks:

  • Sparse representation of big data sets
  • Functional spaces suitable for big data analysis
  • Mathematical foundations of machine learning
  • Signal and image processing
  • Statistical analysis for big data
  • Convex or non-convex optimization for data analysis
  • Scalable algorithms for big data
  • Applications of data science
