CPD395 Leadership Philosophy Statement
Introduction:
According to Robbins, 2007, “Leadership is the ability to inspire a team to achieve a certain goal”. Leadership should be used to motivate your team to achieve success in all they do whether at work or at home. Providing opportunities for your team to grow and become more knowledgeable or to become better people should be strived for.
Style of Leadership:
I believe in democratic leadership where I will solicit the input of all the members on the team and then I will make the decision on how best to proceed. I will make sure that all members have the right to contribute to the discussion or project that is currently being worked on.
Leadership Vision:
I would like to be a leader that brings positive change within the company and inspires the team to achieve and be more than they thought they could be.
Leadership Values:
I will strive to commit myself to honest and transparent communications and processes. I will be accountable to my company and my teammates in all matters and will take responsibility for my words and actions. I will be respective of all and their opinions and will do my best to show integrity in all my actions at work and in my personal life.
Conclusion:
Unless I am willing to give of myself and my time, I can’t expect my team to invest in what we are trying to achieve. I have to make sure that I follow through on what I say and do, so that my team will trust in what I am trying to promote.
