I think that the skills that I have developed during my years at college are the soft skills that I think are more marketable, such as, that I am adaptable, hardworking and that I have good communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. I have had to learn to pay attention to instructions and to follow guidance so that the product I was asked to develop followed the guidelines that were given to me. Sometimes, I would find myself straying from the path that was given me and doing more work than was necessary and wasn’t getting the requirements in that I needed to. Then I would have to backtrack and start again.
Perseverance or adaptability has come in handy in the last few years. Trying not to give up when things became overwhelming. Learning how to manage my time and keep on pushing through each semester even when life got in the way. For example, at one time, my two-year brother was diagnosed with cancer, and we thought we were going to lose him. It was very hard to keep on task with school with all the worry. Now he is 6 and cancer free and I am almost done with my degree.
My critical thinking skills have evolved as the semesters progress. I still have a long way to go but I think I have the basic outline that helps me solve problems and meet goals.
