MET300 – Thermodynamics

The course taught the understanding of thermodynamic systems, their boundaries, and surroundings, as well as different types of energy and the concepts of energy transfer through work and heat. It required proficient use of steam tables and working with ideal gases, along with utilizing the generalized compressibility chart for non-ideal gases. The course also taught me to apply the first law of thermodynamics to both open and closed systems. Additionally, I was able to understand and apply the principles of the second law of thermodynamics and use it to define entropy as a thermodynamic property, with a strong focus on calculating entropy changes. This comprehensive foundation prepared me for more advanced study in thermodynamics and its applications in engineering.
