STEM 251G Computer Literacy: Communication and Information

This class was a writing focused class that taught me how to do efficient research and how to use different types of sources, from academic journals to social media posts, to support my ideas in a research paper. While the class was labeled as a STEM class, the instructor did not require the papers to be on the topic of our major, but rather something we were interested in. This allowed me to write about something I am passionate about while also learning valuable skills including: how to pick sources that are credible, how to use sources effectively and not just to meet a minimum requirement, how to incorporate images into a paper without taking away from the writing, and how to organize my ideas when I am writing so that the paper flows from one topic to the next coherently. I was able to write about my favorite Premier League team and still gain valuable insight and experience from the class.
