Review Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and explain how each level relates to your experiences with technology. Give specific examples of how your digital experiences relate to each level of need.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs relates to my experiences with technology in numerous ways. At
the physiological level, I rely on food delivery apps like DoorDash, when I don’t have the time to go
grocery shopping or feel like cooking. At the safety level, I take precautions by enabling a two-factor
authentication on my banking account to protect my personal information from hackers. I also use a GPS
tracking app when traveling by myself to share my location with friends and family for extra protection.
For the belonginess and love level, technology helps me stay connected with friends and family through
facetime and messaging apps. For example, I regularly FaceTime with a close friend who’s interning in
Europe, making it easier for us to maintain a bond despite the distance. At the esteem level, I’ve used
online learning platforms like Khan Academy to develop new skills, which gives me a sense of
accomplishment. I also use fitness-tracking apps that set goals and provide achievements that help me
see my progress and remain motivated. Lastly, at the self-actualization level, technology allows me to
cultivate my creativity by exploring new hobbies like video editing and content creation. I recently
created a short video project using multimedia software and uploaded it online, which allowed me to
express myself artistically and acquire new techniques. Overall, technology enhances my life by helping
me meet essential needs, stay connected with others, build confidence, and explore my creativity in
meaningful ways.
