My penpal, Mary Katherine Maloney, mostly known as “MK’, is currently an account coordinator for POV sports. I got in contact with her through my academic advisor, Amy Lynch. With MK being an ODU graduate and former ODU student-athlete, she knew a lot about sports from the athlete point of view, but she recently, through her occupation, learned so much about the importance of the behind-the-scenes and ins and outs of the sports industry. Within her job, she makes sure that her client’s sport sponsorship deals are running smoothly. Her favorite part about her job is the experiences, memories, and people she’s met along the way. She says that her path wasn’t the easiest, but it was worth it in the end.
