As the fall semester is coming to an end, I feel fortunate to have taken away as much as I learned from this class. I was hesitant about taking a language class virtually, but I believe that I have learned just as well as I would have if I were to have taken an in-person class or through software like Rosetta Stone or Babbel. I enjoyed this semester because I could pace myself. In SPAN 102F, responsibility was placed on the student to truly invest the time and digest the material in their way. This allowed me to teach myself ways to learn a subject without attending a classroom every day. This experience was quite different from SPAN 101F. SPAN 101F was more like a refresher for what I learned in high school. I immensely enjoyed this experience, learning a language different than how most people prefer. I plan to continue developing my Spanish skills so that I can one day visit a Spanish-speaking country and have a conversation with the locals. Doing so can only help expose me to cultures to which I am not accustomed.
