Question: Write at least one paragraph using the Rule of Five structure (one or more introductory sentence(s), at least three supporting sentences, and one or more concluding sentences) that describes how a value chain model for your business would identify opportunities for the information systems that drive your business.
Answer: For our business providing Information Technology services, a value chain model would be invaluable in implementing information technology to more efficiently improve and cultivate the growth of the business. For instance, a value chain model could identify a support activity for the administration and management side of things that could easily use information systems to accurately log schedules and assignments for technicians to help customers. Another activity could be processing transactions and payrolls in the finance department using a simple yet concise information system. Finally, a value chain could influence human resources to create a new system that more efficiently stores and categorizes information on the various employees working at the business. Essentially, a value chain model would create more guidance and direction that would be crucial to the development for our IT support business.
