Question: Write at least one paragraph using the Rule of Five structure (one or more introductory sentence(s), at least three supporting sentences, and one or more concluding sentences) that describe how you will leverage the use of databases to track data in your business. For example, you could describe databases for the tracking of customer, product, and order history data.
Answer: In our information technology business, we will utilize databases and database structures alike in order to more efficiently store information regarding our customers and to identify when changes are needed to be made in our business. For our main databases, we will have relational databases containing information and transactions with our customers whenever we help them out, including who they are, where they are, contact information, and a short description of the problem faced; in this case, this information will prove to be crucial when identifying future customers and to follow up with more assistance in case the previous issue wasn’t solved. In addition, we will also implement web mining with our database in order to look over customer reviews and possible other competitors customers search up in order to find ways to improve our own systems, customer service, or marketing. In terms of improving the business overall, we can also implement OLAP into our databases to address specific situations that could increase the performance of the business, such as what month people sought out our services the most, common complaints from customers, etc. Overall, databases would offer a lot of very valuable information that could improve the overall function of the business and allow us to help out our customers even more.
