My second conversation on TalkAbroad was more difficult than my first one. Overall the conversation went okay but not as well as my last one.

The conversation started rough as it was hard for me to understand what she was saying with her accent. During the conversation, we mainly stuck to the questions provided and did not stray much. One thing I found funny about our conversation was my partner’s reaction to my future profession. She was very surprised and intrigued as to why I plan to become a mortician. She asked if any of my family members were in the same field and what my reasoning was for going into that line of work. I appreciated that when I would pronounce any word wrong she would help me correct it to the proper pronunciation.

During the conversation, I noticed that I felt a lot more nervous and anxious than I did in my last one. My suspected reasoning for this is because my last partner was around the same age as my sister and they were also a student so I felt more comfortable talking to them. However, this partner was older than I am so I felt inherently nervous. Having to stay aware of what I was saying as well as trying to understand what she was saying and remain respectful and polite was most likely the reason why I was much more nervous during the conversation which led to not going as well as the last one
