Exploring Culture

LingroHub has helped me to gain a better understanding of cultural perspectives. Also just talking to classmates and the Professor has increased my understanding. I know a lot more about Spanish culture these days.

Engaging in Communities

Engaging in your immediate community is paramount to healthy relationships and a happy life. Engaging in the global community allows one to increase their world view and learn about different people and cultures.

Interpersonal Communication

I have performed multiple oral/audio activities. I have had to partner up and give interviews to classmates. I have had to do oral interviews with my Professor. I have used very basic Spanish with my step moms family, as they are Venezuelan.

I have commented on my classmates projects in Spanish and have talked spontaneously to my Spanish speaking step family. I have grown each time I have had unplanned Spanish communication as a Spanish speaker because I am forced to try to use new words and use context in order to understand words I am unfamiliar with. I overcome difficulties by consulting the Spanish dictionary.

Presentational Speaking

I have had to speak in front of my class in Spanish when I am called on and for the class projects.

Presentational Writing

I have written many descriptions of myself, my personality, my condition, my university, and the places I go for presentations. I have struggled but overcame the struggles by consulting my professor, the Spanish dictionary, and helpful and knowledgeable classmates.

Interpretive Listening

I have heard many things in Spanish this semester. I have heard my professor and classmates speaking Spanish. I have watched many videos and audio clips in Lingrohub that require interpretive listening.

Interpretive Reading

I have done many assignments in Lingrohub and in class that have required me to read something in Spanish and use what I know and context clues to decipher the entire message.
