Hello, my name is Jackson Bales. I am a 26 year old Navy veteran who is attending Old Dominion University. I currently hold an associates degree in information systems technology and I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in cybersecurity.
Before joining the Navy, I grew up in a small town called Effingham, Illinois. After bootcamp, I moved to Connecticut, and then Norfolk, Virginia. I spent 5 years as a boatswains mate before making the decision to separate from the military and pursue higher education.
After I had obtained my associates degree, I got a job working for a Cybernetics, a company that specializes in storage area networks. I currently troubleshoot software, work as a level two help desk associate, and install open source software. This job has given me experience working with multiple distributions of Linux, switching, routing, and setting up cloud servers.
