Organizations, (especially large ones), are at a greater security risk today than they have been ever before. In the growing cyber world, the avenues for attack are growing at an exponential rate. To combat this, it takes a large team of people constantly conducting surveillance. Unfortunately, people are not perfect. Mistakes are going to be made in a workplace. All it takes is one bad day from one of many workers and a security breach can occur. Computers are only as good and protected as the people handling them. If someone were to slip up, it could cause a catastrophic breach in a company’s infrastructure.
In the world of Cybersecurity, human errors are the leading cause of breaches. (CM Alliance, 2025) This is a result of complacency and minor oversights which can lead to leaks. Even the small errors can cause a ripple effect that can lead to greater infrastructure damage. To prevent this, workers must safeguard information in a way that makes it less vulnerable. This could include regular review of security systems to ensure compliance, using secured Wi-Fi to conduct business, or limiting access of sensitive information only to those who need it. (Randall, H. 2025) There are many more ways, but they all come from constant vigilance and awareness of one’s actions. Each person must have a constant guard up to ensure they are not exposing sensitive data to bad actors.
