Throughout this class, the idea of learning how to understand, replicate, and create our own creative sports media is my favorite aspect of this class.
The amount of assignments didn’t deter my spirt when facing these tasks either. As it was a creative challenge similar, (or I’m at least hoping) to the creative challenges a sports media production company encounters. I feel the teaching style that the class was led with was an excellent gateway into the career path of sports media as well; meaning that the class was mostly turned over to the students and, their creativity and diligence were expected to shine through to make this class work, in which it did.
The sports blog is an assignment in particular that allowed ME to flourish and express my creativity within the sports media world. I took this task into my hands as an opportunity to create a sort of rough draft for the first installment of my own personal sports news broadcasting website. As I didn’t let the limitations of the class stop me, as I would add more creative works to the site in efforts to keep the site relevant and off of the boring path. This assignment led to the creation and inspiration of my own personal branding efforts to produce sports media, this class has been a useful tool in so many ways for an aspiring sports journalist.
