The role of a cybersecurity analyst relates to social behaviors because it connects to the human firewall aspects of a company and it incorporates many of the social behaviors of cybersecurity professionals. First, the job has to oversee both technical and human protections of a company’s assets. A cybersecurity analyst has to help with training company employees and making cybersecurity policies clear and easy to follow to prevent human errors from causing breaches. Being able to understand how social engineering and the information maneuver attackers use are necessary to train employees to detect and prevent them. Second, the job shows the need for the common cybersecurity social behaviors like critical thinking and technology skills to make systems as safe as possible digitally as well as communication and teamwork to help other employees, both other cybersecurity employees and the general workforce, stay safe and protect the company’s assets.
