Hello, My name is Jade Hines.

I am currently a Sophmore at Old Dominion University (ODU), and I am going for a major in cybersecurity. I became interested in cybersecurity during high school when my teacher Mr. Meister would run Linux machines. These were mainly fun activities set to escalate privilege. I plan on becoming a vulnerability assessment analyst, and this would include understanding how machines work as well as coding. So far, I have taken AP Computer Science to get myself familiar with JavaScript, which I passed with a 3 on the AP test. I have been involved in the Cybersecurity Impact Learning Community (ILC) at ODU, this is a place in which a bunch of freshmen who do not necessarily live together, but have the same major get together and learn together. I mainly have taken only general education classes, I do have a 3.38 GPA. I am in the Perry Honors College and have been invited to Phi Eta Sigma which is a first-year honors society. I have joined a co-ed fraternity called Theta Tau which is known for engineering and professionalism.
