The first professional goal I have is to learn how to properly interview an employee. I want to understand the expectations that administration has when going into an interview. I plan to talk to some of the directors of each department that I work with. I would ask them how much does the dress and first impression matter compared to their resumé? I want to learn what expectations are healthy when going into an interview as the interviewer.
The second professional goal I have is to figure out how each section of the facility has different regulations. For instance, the rehab section has different regulations then the acute care facility. There are two other types of care given by Lake Taylor and these include childcare and long-term care. I want to understand what the different regulations are for these different sections.
The third professional goal that I have is to understand the different expectations and relationships the administrator has with the other directors of each department. I think this is one of the more important pieces for me to understand. There are many departments in this hospital and if I were to ever have the opportunity to be the administrator then I would need to understand how the pieces fit. I plan on sitting down with each director and asking them their expectations as well as relationship with Mr. Orsini, the head administrator.
