My professor for CYSE-200 tasked us with writing a 300-word journal entry on the topic of what FIDO is and what they do. For the assignment, I was able to define FIDO as an organization that has the goal of making authentication securities simpler but still strong by using their creation of FIDO2, which is a combination of other authentication standards and protocols. FIDO2 improves on or removes the 4 problems most users encounter when they have to deal with authentication, which are security, convenience, privacy, and scalability.
