Social cybersecurity is a rapidly developing domain affecting current and future warfighting, both conventional and unconventional. Unlike traditional cybersecurity, protection of information systems, social cybersecurity strikes at human behavior via technology-“cognitive hacking.” It aggregates such disciplines as political science, sociology, and psychology for the comprehension and prediction of cyber-mediated social and political modifications. The very active exploitation by Russia of such techniques, the conceptual origin of which dates back to Soviet times-“active measures”-aimed at propaganda. They want to break societies and create dissension at the political level, racial, and allied groups to debilitate foes. Now, the method has been improved with high technology and the help of mathematical modeling.
