Review Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and explain how each level relates to your experiences with technology.

Response:

The physiological need that I experienced with technology was losing my phone because I never know when I will need my phone for an emergency. The security needs that I face with technology is when I could potentially get a virus on my devices. I have had a virus on my computer before when I didn’t know about security software or doing basic things like updating my computer. A way technology has given me belongingness and love is by being able to video call or see what my friends and family are doing online so I can see them even when I’m far away from them. For example, going off to college I was away from everyone but being able to Facetime them to see what they were doing made me feel loved. My self-esteem has taken a toll due to technology because social media displays these people that everyone wants to look like and sometimes when I don’t have what they have it also helps my self-esteem when I post and I have friends that comment saying that I look good. I have experienced self-actualization with technology by using TikTok or any social media that makes me happy and find enjoyment at the moment. For example, when my friends and I make TikToks I get to live in the moment while capturing the situation.
