Cybersecurity HSI Framework Meme Assignment

Meme 1:

This meme relates to Human Systems Integration because it’s referring to how employees should be trained to be careful with all emails, especially those that are automatically categorized as spam.

Meme 2:

This image demonstrates how people should be aware of fake websites that attempt to imitate the real version of a website for malicious purposes.

Meme 3:

This shows an individual who has satisfied login requirements enforced by his organization, which requires that the employee, student, etc. must use two of their personal/assigned devices in order to gain access to their account.

Meme 4:

This picture shows an individual who is trying to remotely access a hosted service via SSH (instead of insecure alternative methods that transmit data in a plain text format).  However, this also requires additional configuration steps.

Meme 5:

As someone who has dealt with this before at my work, an organization needs to be able to have multiple ways for employees to access company resources, in case the software doesn’t work on a specific type of device.

Meme 6:

Although some organizations and web services will allow people to succeed this easily in updating their password, stricter policies can (and should) be enforced to ensure that better digital habits are learned and regularly practiced.

Meme 7:

Although some people have the urge to make many aspects of their lives public, images can potentially become a security risk.  This is especially the case if the pictures reveal location data, or confidential details about an organization’s internal processes.

Meme 8:

Some companies require their employees to regularly complete cybersecurity training.  And some will even send fake malicious emails as a way for the company’s IT department to see if employees will correctly take action in response to the situation.

Meme 9:

Coincidentally, this assignment is being completed in October, which is Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023.  Sometimes a short, temporary period of downtime in a company is worth it, if it means that the time is reinvested towards increasing the chances of protecting company, employee, and customer information.

Meme 10:

Although so many of today’s devices have built-in cameras, they’re not necessarily the best tool to use in response to every situation.  Some companies prohibit the use of cameras within certain portions of the building.  It’s typically best to report the issue either verbally or through documentation of the incident.
