The “CIA Triad” is an important model represented across many businesses in the United States. The model emphasizes three integral principles of cybersecurity, Confidentiality, Integrity, and availability. This is a guiding model of security used by businesses when developing and structuring a security model for their business. These three concepts provided different structures for policies, ensuring that the proper documents are accessible to authorized users, that the data comes from an accurate trustworthy source, and that this information is readily available to the authorized parties. Narrowing down a company’s cybersecurity model into these three main concepts help companies focus on how they may be achieving these among their business and employees.
To be able to have certain access and the ability to safeguard material requires specific training and certifications to ensure the safety of confidential properties. One of the most recent examples of safeguarding someone’s access is a 2FA, this is now becoming a standard practice across a multitude of businesses across the United States. There are many benefits to the CIA Triad model including the privacy and security of data, proactive risk preventions and many other compliance driven implementations to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
In my opinion the CIA Triad model should be a standard practice amongst successful businesses in the United States. The model is a basic structure that can ensure the privacy a business may promise to their customers of not having private information get into the unauthorized hands.
