Cybersecurity Resources

When it comes to being in a position of power within a company such as Chief information security officer, there is a lot of responsibility and considerations you must make to ensure the safety of the company and its customers. In this position you must identify the potential risks the company might face from attackers and how a breach in the data can affect those with their information leaked. In addition, you must see the weakness within your company to make sure there isn’t such an easy target for someone to attack. With a certain budget you must put your focus into certain aspects of your security.

Factors
With successful security in information technology, you must consider two key aspects which is the technology the associate has at their disposal, and the training the associates go through or have gone through to successfully acquire a position within the company. In my experience out in the job field working both blue collar and white-collar jobs, I can see that many companies are still using older technology systems and put more focus into training their associates to ensure they can successfully do their job and protect assets of the company. Although putting more of the company’s salary towards upgrading the equipment they might be using will give an advantage to its users, it won’t matter to the company if they don’t have associates whom are qualified for their position.

Training
Although the company will do what they can to ensure the associates they hire are qualified for the type of work and responsibilities, it is a great idea to make it a requirement for them to stay up to date of those skills and be introduced to new ways someone might try and get unauthorized access that your associate my not be familiar with. Although having advance technology will help associates, many successful companies would rather their associates stay up to date and qualified for their job vs giving them hardware to make their job easier and have them not as sharp on potential risks.
