Hello everyone! My name is Jamila Aliyah Hameen, but I prefer to be addressed as just Aliyah. I am a senior psychology major from Virginia, and I aspire to graduate with my B.S. in Psychology in May of 2020. I plan on furthering my education by going to graduate school and receiving my Masters in Education. One of my biggest passions is people and I thoroughly enjoy studying the way they think and how that influences their behavior. I aspire to someday use my Psychology degree to work with a variety of people, but I’d like to focus primarily on children. I want to pursue a career in education and hope to become a teacher within the next few years after graduation. My dream job is to one day become the U.S. Secretary of Education, because my second passion next to people is knowledge and the way education shapes the lives of youth. My goal for this class is to gain knowledge on how social factors influence people’s behavior. I hope to utilize what I’ve learned in my field to work better with a wide range of people from various thought processes because I know that the work that I’ll be doing will require me to be adaptable and multifaceted in my knowledge in relation to how people behave.
