For the fifth assignment, I had to perform a good deed every day for a week. Some days I didn’t intentionally go out of my way to do a good deed, and it just happened but other days I made it my goal to perform one. Doing this assignment has made a significant difference in my life in just a week. I realized how performing a good deed at least once a day for a week was something I wanted to continue to strive for. I definitely feel as though this is something that everyone should implement into their everyday lives. I can genuinely say that every day that I did this made it significantly better.

I chose this image with this quote because I believe that sometimes people perform good deeds with intention of getting something in return when I feel it’s more important to do as this quote says, and “do good deeds for others because it’s the right thing to do.”

For the fourth assignment, I learned about the different styles of love. The questionnaire that was provided gave me a different outlook on the way I acquire love, and what it is that I require as well. It’s a different assessment than the ones I’ve participated in before such as the Love Language questionnaire, however, I do see similarities between the two. I think the Styles of Love questionnaire is more in depth, and I like how you can calculate and determine your own score. I did have some trouble figuring out how to interpret my scores, and i’m not sure I did it correctly and accurately but it was still interesting to be able to determine where your score was in comparison to the mean of your gender.
I chose this meme because it’s a humorous way of depicting “love languages” which is a concept that assesses the way in which people love. https://images.app.goo.gl/ZXpbJo3nPttCVUxW6

For this assignment, I learned that no matter how much you support someone with celebrity status and how famous they may be, it does not exempt them from holding racist and prejudice ideologies. This assignment only confirmed to me that a person’s true feelings will come to light when they are pushed to the point of anger. I didn’t so much as learn anything new, my pre-existing beliefs were just more so confirmed. This assignment made me thoroughly consider how much intent plays a factor in how people react to certain stimuli. I do believe that despite someone’s intent, whether they meant well or not, it’s important never justify use of racist slurs in any circumstance.

For my first assignment, I learned the way in which heuristics plays a factor in how we perceive certain thoughts and how that reflects in our behavior. It was interesting to learn how a previous situation can influence a current one and how we project those past observations and allow it to determine how we interpret a new one. After learning about the different heuristics, I was immediately able to apply them to situations i’ve seen before in my own life. I didn’t know that there was a term for such a way of thinking, but now I am able to better understand why I make certain judgements about certain things. Heuristics reminded me of the word “biases” and how some of our perceptions are interpreted the way they are because we are bias.

I chose this image because it accurately describes an availability heuristic.
