Sports Media “Diet”
Good evening,
Everyone consumes sports differently. Some people are constantly on their phones looking at updates on social media, others listen to podcasts, and some people watch television to be updated on all their sports news. I believe how you consume sports depends more on your upbringing and when that was. A big way that I consume sports is through social media, but if you are an older person like my grandfather, you probably consume a lot of your sports media directly through television, he strictly watches baseball on television any chance he gets and that is the only way he knows what is going on in baseball currently. Sports media is everywhere, and it is something I enjoy. I am able to consume sports media on the go. Just recently, the NBA trade deadline was, and I had my Twitter notifications on the entire time because I wanted to stay in the loop, especially while being a big Miami Heat fan waiting to see what they will do with our star player Jimmy Butler. I also get my sports news from podcasts and television shows but not as much as others. I enjoy watching “The Pat McAfee Show” when I am at the gym, and they go over everything from all sports. Overall, my main way of consumption is through Instagram and Twitter or X. I follow hundreds of different pages that have different updates on different sports and different teams and even pages that are dedicated strictly to posting about trade rumors and trade information for all sports and even several pages that are “meme pages” about different things going around in sports leagues.
