Technology has changed throughout the years which has helped change many aspects of the way people live their daily lives. Examples of this can be shown through healthcare keeping charts on the computer along with vitals everyone can view. This also allowed medical records to be recorded electronically which in the DOD allows all other bases the same access to information to give the best care when members deploy or PCS. Electric cars have become popular by saving money on gas and less carbon dioxide affecting the environment. These are all examples of how lives have been changed by technology evolving.
While many good things have come out of using technology there is also the bad. Many people are reliant on phones to the point no one can or tries to remember phone numbers. This has caused many problems as people can’t call their loved ones if their phone breaks or if a major incident were to happen and they do not have their phone. Technology also comes with problems of people hacking or planting viruses online risking information being taken. As it evolves, so do the efforts and knowledge of hackers and threats. Bank account information and social security numbers have been sold on the dark web.
As with many things, there is always good and bad. Each perspective is different as the older generation tends to look at technology more as a flaw and the younger generation typically likes the convenience. I believe it is all a matter of perspective. If someone is using complex passwords and has firewall protection, then there can be a lesser risk and can instead be a great asset. If no protections are taken, then technology does pose more of a risk and can make it appear unsafe and more of a hassle.
