Comparing the difference in the risk between the UK and the US is an intriguing case. While the US is
more prone to attacks and attempts most typically come from inside the country than out. While
the data collected is accurate based on reports there could be more attempts that could have gone
unreported. There are many scenarios where companies do not lie to share this information to where
the public might believe they are untrustworthy. Reputation is more popular in the US and that can be
considered a fault to where that can be more harmful than good. Meanwhile, the UK has not hidden its
attempts to increase security and the actions being done to scare off future attackers and attempts.

While both the UK and the US both expect more breaches to occur, and the threat increases the UK overall had more attempts and successful breaches. However, the US did have a significant number of
attempts. According to the executives of companies in the two countries, they expect more attempts in
the future. The amount of ransomware attacks in the US outweighs the amount in the UK and the number
is expected to keep growing.

The UK is taking more protective measures to protect from attacks by investing in insurance and
switching to clouds for data as a backup measure. While the US has already been doing this the UK
numbers jumped significantly. The attack in 2016 against Europe created a mission for cyber defense
protections to increase. The UK is also changing the education involved to prepare the change to start at
the base level to increase.

While some countries are more at risk for cyber threats than others the numbers are increasing
worldwide. Due to the use of technology for daily life, the executives from both countries are correct in
predicting the number of attempts to increase. More money is being spent and invested in cyber
protection.
