Assignment 1 – Cybercrime and Cyberterrorism Case Analysis

For this assignment, I analyzed the actions of TheDarkOverlord Solutions, a cybercriminal group that targeted the Flathead Valley School District with a ransomware attack and threats. The exercise involved evaluating whether their actions constituted cyberterrorism, identifying violations under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), and discussing relevant privacy and constitutional law issues. This assignment strengthened my understanding of cybercrime classifications, U.S. cybersecurity laws, and the legal and ethical challenges in cyber investigations.
