Cybersecurity Internship

During CYSE 368, I had the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the cybersecurity field by volunteering with an approved organization. I completed 50 hours of work for each course credit and submitted reflective assignments throughout my internship. After every 50-hour milestone, I wrote journal entries to reflect on the tasks I completed, challenges I faced, and the progress I made toward my learning goals.

At the end of the internship, I wrote a final paper that summarized my overall experience. I reflected on the management environment, the major projects I worked on, how I applied cybersecurity skills, how my coursework at ODU helped prepare me, and what I found motivating, challenging, and discouraging. This experience helped me connect what I learned in the classroom to real-world cybersecurity work and gave me a clearer understanding of the field.
