I think it was, at the time, sort of a natural progression. He said he started out in an accounting firm and was moved to the IT department which he was interested in, and grew his talents in before he moved onto a Digital Forensics career path around the year 2000. Back then digital forensics, and IT were still firmly in their adolescence and like he said “you either fell into it, or got put into it.” His skills and interest in IT naturally grew overtime, and again like he said “he found his niche” in the field. It shows that you can develop your skills, and finally when you see a sub-field of study you’re interested in, you should go for it, and develop yourself in that particular sub-field.
