Sports are something that I have been interested in since I was walking, and many of those passions were fueled by my stepdad who was born and raised in New York. He has always been a Jets and Mets fan and I can clearly recall spending time with him watching games, hearing the excitement in his voice as he cheered for his teams and the friendship that developed between us through the years by our love of sports. At the age of five my stepdad gave me a baseball bat and a football and taught me how to swing a bat and catch a football. We spent many hours in the backyard throwing passes and hitting grounders, and I have kept those memories to this day. It began as a simple game and grew into a great love of the sports themselves. Baseball and football were not just games to me, they were a way to spend time with my stepdad and to learn the lessons of teamwork, dedication and perseverance which have stayed with me throughout my life. During my high school days I played both baseball and football and struggled to be the best that I could be, both on and off the field. His encouragement, his endless support, and his strong belief in me saw me through every tough practice and game, telling me that hard work and heart always overshadows everything. As I moved through my high school years, I played both baseball and football, always pushing myself to be the best I could be. My stepdad was my biggest supporter, always there with advice, encouragement, and a belief in my potential. His influence has shaped not only my athletic development but also my character and work ethic. I am enthusiastic about my professional career as I look to the future. I’ve always enjoyed playing the games, but I also find the backstage activities of sports to be really fascinating. I’m thinking of going into football scouting, where I could use my expertise and love of the game to assess players and assist teams in assembling competitive lineups. As an alternative, I’d like to work as a facilities manager, making sure that athletic venues are well-maintained and furnished to accommodate elite events and competitions. Both routes would enable me to use the abilities I’ve accumulated over the years and maintain ties to the sports community. While this was originally started as a project, the blog has evolved into a tool for my own development. I can reflect on my experiences and objectives by writing about my sporting journey, and I can also share my thoughts with people who might have similar interests. In addition to helping me complete an assignment, the blog gives me a platform to discuss ideas, track my development, and create a community around my love of sports. In addition to providing a forum for others to interact, gain knowledge, and share their own experiences, I hope this platform aids in my personal and professional development as a writer. I’m excited to keep going on this blog and see where it will lead me, both personally and professionally.
