Reflection Paper

            One takeaway I have learned from this course this semester is research strategies. This concept from the course helped me learned new ways to conduct research for not only this class but for other classes as well. This concept has taught me how to look for useful sources and how to conduct research questions that are based on my research topic. I have learned about different research sources such as journals, articles, and E-books. This concept from this course will help me with research papers in future classes and even in my future career.

            The second takeaway I have learned from this course this semester is ethical hacking and the different types of hacking there are. The three different types of hacking being black hat hackers, White hat hackers, and grey hat hackers. Black hat hackers illegally hack into a system for monetary gain or value. White hat hackers exploit the vulnerabilities in a system by having permission by the organization to hack into their systems and protect their data. Grey hat hackers hack into an organizations computer system without their permission or approval and then requestion money for finding vulnerabilities in their systems.

            The third takeaway I have learned from this course this semester is phishing, a form of attack from hackers. Phishing is an attack from a hacker using emails with malicious links or code attached to them. There is different way to detect a phishing attack. You can look at the email and the emails that are CC in the email. Another thing to look for is format and how the email is constructed.

            The fourth takeaway I have learned from this course this semester is SERPS. In this concept I have learned about the different tabs on a search page and why they are there. News sections, information sections, and ad sections are part of search engines and have their own roles.
