This semester, most of my classes were biology based and all seemed to tie together at specific points of the semester. Although our unit on the different branches of immunity was one of the first things we discussed in class, I found it extremely helpful for the last section of my microbiology course. Most of the information was a complete review from what I had learned in this immunology class and it was interesting to see how our bodies have defenses against pathogens like certain bacteria and viruses that can keep us as healthy as possible. In the near future, I will be working in a health center, so it will be pretty cool to see what else I can apply from not just microbiology but also this immunology course into my real life experiences. Given how the pandemic has affected a lot of our actions, I am hoping to see new innovations as to how researchers may combat pathogens that are resistant to strong antibiotics and maybe even some ways to strengthen our immune system in response to those types of situations.
