The four majors that Old Dominion offers are Cybersecurity, cybercrime, cyber operations and enterprise security. Many jobs in all of these fields will prefer certifications a little more than a bachelor degree based on the thing a certification can provide. All of these bachelor degree majors revolve around IT work. Cybersecurity is the practice of preventing anyone from a digital attack on someone’s information technology. Cybersecurity is meant for awareness on different types of cybercrime. Learning the skills of approach to cybersecurity issues, different programs, and addressing how to resolve problems that may occur in the real world. Any criminal behavior involving a computer, a system component, or a network is regarded as a cybercrime. While most cyber crimes are committed to make money for the perpetrators, certain crimes are committed against computers or other gadgets directly with the aim to harm or disable them. Cybercrime is meant to protect individuals while cybersecurity protects government and corporate actions. Cyber operations are the activities to discover evidence or crime or threats that put major risk on a corporation’s data. Cyber operations use different types of operations, activities, and techniques for all types of systems and software being used. Cyber operations will focus more on the red side field of things. The red side field is considered offense, while the blue side field is considered defense. Enterprise security is the steps put in to keep all information in a safe place. There are many types of practicing methods to prevent secret data and information on a company or government safe. Most companies know that they need to protect their data but don’t know where or how to start. All of these bachelor degrees revolve around each other to help out the government or corporate actions.
