SPAN 102

Hello everybody, my name is Jayson Montoya. This is my e-portfolio on everything I have learned this semester in Spanish 102. I have learned from 5 units this semester all giving me some form information that has helped me succeed and have a new understanding of Spanish. the first unit I will be talking is our unit 6.

Unit 6

In unit 6 I learned how to describe my family members from calling them the right name like “Hermana/o, Madre, padre, etc”. I also learned the status of certain family members and some characteristics about them that I could use to describe my family members. We had a final for this project where we had to talk about our family members and give descriptions about them.

Unit 7

For unit 7 we learned a lot about sports and athletics that are very popular to me and my fellow classmates. We also learned how to use the irregular verbs in the past tense while talking about sports in action and when people do stuff in action.

Unit 8

In unit 8 we learned mostly about food. Knowing how to express our food taste and what our preferences are for certain foods being cooked. We also learned what to call utensils and anything we need to help us cook food like pots, pans, knives, forks, plates, etc. Our final for this unit was talking about our favorite dish to make and how we prep for it and cook it.

Unit 9

In this unit we learned about health and diseases, the well being of you as a person and ways that you can stay healthy and keep your body well. We also talked about symptoms from illnesses, and body parts within the human body. For this final we had to talk about the human body and the functions and movements it could do.

Unit 10

In unit 10 we learned about popular professions that you needed by going through college, a lot of the professions we talked about was being a doctor/nurse, lawyer, judge, and an accountant. For our final we had a project where we had to act like we had recently graduated and find the profession for us.

This semester of Spanish was very interesting, but also very fun to learn as I feel as I expanded my vocabulary and am able to speak more fluently to any of my relatives who speak Spanish. Some units were challenging and hard to study for but at the end of the day I feel like I was able to overcome it and finish this semester.
