As a member of the digital public, plenty of my personal information can be found through online sites and other social medias. When presented with the task to Google myself, not too much information was provided. The only solid information found was my FaceBook account. However, even though my FaceBook was the only social media presented through google search, my Instagram could also be found based on it being owned by information. When it comes to privacy and cybersecurity implications, the identification of data falls very unethically. Although I am in control of what information is posted online, I have no control over which outsiders use my data for their own malicious intent/personal interest.
Since there is a pro golfer that shares a name with me, most google recommendations linked me to his PGA information. Other sources linked me to LinkedIn accounts for other Jacob Boyces. Although I don’t have a LinkedIn account, this just shows how easily available your information is before it is even posted.
