How is my degree related to cyber security technologies?

The major I am currently enrolled in at Old Dominion University is the Cybersecurity major, so it is very difficult to not see how that wouldn’t be related to cybersecurity. The main thing I look forward to doing once I have my degree in cybersecurity is network security admin work. I love working with computers and I’ve always had an interest in the installation and maintaining of networks, which in turn makes me excited to learn about cybersecurity. Some of the classes I look forward to taking will teach me about networking, network security infrastructure, security assessment, and everything I would need to know about protecting networks. Being able to learn about certain technology will be exciting as well. I’m looking forward to learning about servers, certain programs such as wireshark, how different things connect to each other through the internet of things, and of course learning more about the computers we use every days like our phones and desktop. Learning about cybersecurity is an exciting thought, and I will be eager to do that through my cybersecurity major.
