DBQ0

A native English speaker should learn Spanish for a plethora of reasons.  In my opinion the most important is the ability to communicate with those who you would have never had the ability to communicate with if you didn’t know the language.  Though not a direct impact to my degree in Cybersecurity learning Spanish will help me communicate and express ideas to those who may be interested in joining the field.

Family dynamics in the US vs Hispanic culture can be extremely different Depending on the class and culture of each family. Hispanic cultures typically follow a more traditional family dynamic. Each part has their own role and that does not change at any point. The mother helps the family and keeps the house in check while the father earns the pay to sustain everyone’s lifestyle.

While in America and some American households there is no “true” dynamic. Speaking from my own personal experience and my mother being a single mom she had to take care of everything.  mi hermano y yo trabajamos en la casa para nuestra madre.

mi deporte favorito es el lacrosse.

I love playing lacrosse because it is a combination of a multitude of different sports.  I was actually the present of ODU’s lacrosse team for a period of time which was a blast.

In American culture the type of food each household eats can vary vastly between households.  Personally I do not have the ability to cook and make meals as much as I would like due to my work and school.  When I do I use foods from multiple cultures, Italian, German, Mexican, texmex and a few others. I thinks its relatively easy to determine American culture as it is a hotpot of foods and no one person would have a set group of food that they like.  I think different people eat different foods from their cultures for a few different reasons; access to foods and spices, what they were exposed to growing up and recipes exposed throughout generations.  For myself some foods are important for my family to help us remember our past and our family to keep a little bit of them alive with us.

Yo me gusta probar Bolivian Saltena porque yo mucho gusto empanada.

Good afternoon!

I absolutely believe that gender determines stereotypes within jobs.  The video does a great job explaining how kids have a perceived idea of what roles fall under each gender.  It was honestly sad to see that these ideas are still around in a society where a massive amount of technology exists and the availability of information has changed since my childhood.  In my opinion how people view job stereotypes there is no differences between the US and Spain.  The two counties have the same disparities with stereotypes in the workforce.
