- Criminal Justice – Criminal justice and cybersecurity go hand in hand with one another when it comes to the real world. At times, they are both used to validate one another or explain why something happened the way it did regarding crime. Also, both majors ensure the security and dependability of cyberspace daily.
- Computer Science – Cybersecurity and computer science are related to one another by the distinct parts and functions of a computer. First, coding is a significant aspect of both majors and serves as a focal point for most careers in either of these fields. It is essential for any person in these areas to have some expertise in coding because it contributes to every aspect of these industries. Additionally, in both majors, students learn about all parts of a computer including software, hardware, etc. These two majors will be in high demand for many years due to the technological advancements society makes each day.
- Finance – This major relates to cybersecurity due to the vast amount of financial information that is stored online. For example, banking can be done through mobile devices, which can be accessed easily without the proper protection. Suppose people do not have strong passwords or variations in their account numbers (social security, routing number, card number/CVV); In that case, this information can be stolen with ease by hackers or any individuals with malicious intent.
- Game Studies and Design – In similarity to computer science, game studies and design also involve the understanding of computers and their functions. Furthermore, video games are created using various codes and programming which is also used in the cybersecurity major. If I am not mistaken, the comprehension and usage of computers are very extensive in both majors (cybersecurity and game studies and design) due to how reliant the jobs at hand are on technology.
